Earlier this month, we were thrilled to see Workera included in the 2025 GSV 150 — a prestigious list spotlighting the 150 top private companies shaping the future of digital learning and workforce skills. GSV is the global platform driving innovation in education from “pre-K to gray,” and this year’s announcement of the GSV 150 recognized the growing role of AI for learning and workforce development:

“With generative AI embedded in virtually every offering of the 2025 cohort and a meaningful shift toward profitability throughout, this year’s GSV 150 underscore the extraordinary educational and economic impact possible with ‘Learning at the Speed of Light’: over $25 billion in annual revenue and a global reach of over 3 billion learners, collectively.”

For us at Workera, this recognition validates the significant strides we’ve made in advancing AI-driven skills verification and development. We’re honored to be recognized among other companies who are transforming learning for students and workers alike — industry leaders like Degreed, Grammarly and PowerSchool.
The GSV 150 announcement offers a useful milestone to look back on what we accomplished in 2024 and look ahead to how our platform will evolve in 2025.

2024: AI mentors and future-fit skills

When Kian Katanforoosh founded Workera nearly five years ago, his vision was to help people achieve their potential by better understanding their skills. And while the company started with technical skills — especially those having to do with AI — his ultimate goal was to expand the platform to include every possible skill.

2024 was a landmark year for us. We introduced two game-changing innovations:

  • The Future Fit Skills Bundle: Eleven subject areas tailored to help businesses thrive in an AI-enabled future. With this, we aim to make AI proficiency a foundational strength, not just for specialists but for entire organizations. At Workera, we believe that AI is a transformational technology that will be used by every employee in an organization — not just technical specialists. Future Fit allows our customers to quickly bring their entire business up to speed and set them up for long-term success.
  • Sage — Our AI Mentor: Sage redefines how users interact with Workera, offering personalized guidance, actionable feedback, and tailored learning journeys. By understanding each user's job context, Sage identifies critical skill gaps and delivers resources and practice opportunities to close them effectively. For our customers, Sage improves learning outcomes by helping users learn faster from Day One. Building off of Workera’s HR integrations and onboarding processes, Sage learns each employee’s job context, identifies the most relevant skills to verify, and then diagnoses any skills gaps. Sage then guides users to close those gaps through a combination of direct practice and tailored learning resources. Together, these innovations empower businesses and individuals to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.

What’s Next? Sage for the Entire L&D Organization

While Sage is already transforming learning experiences for Workera users, 2025 will see it deliver insights across learning and development organizations. For learners, Sage Mentor will provide hyper-personalized assessments and always-on, relevant learning opportunities. For managers, Sage Assistant will deliver automated program management support at every phase from design to deployment. And for learners and managers alike, Sage Insights will provide holistic recommendations to drive efficiency and improve organizational outcomes.

We’re excited about what lies ahead and grateful to GSV for this recognition. As Kian takes the stage at the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego this April, we look forward to collaborating with other leaders shaping the future of learning.

Here’s to building a world where everyone can thrive in the AI era!
