Verified skills are the next frontier

Workera examined how enterprises are adopting AI and using skills data to build their workforces and assign employees to projects — and how employees on the ground feel about the skills strategies.

Companies with a mature AI strategy are racing ahead of the competition

Organizations that have a fully defined and approved AI objective for 2025 are significantly more likely to feel their training programs are very effective in closing skill gaps and employees are on track to acquire the necessary skills for an AI-enabled future beyond ChatGPT.

33% - Only one-third of enterprises are very confident in their employees’ self-reported skills. Barriers to implementing skills verification include a lack of understanding of verified skills; concerns about job insecurity and employee pushback; and an over-reliance on degrees and seniority.

80% of L&D leaders believe AI will lead their company to increase, rather than reduce, overall headcount.

88%  of organizations prioritize AI skills over other skills in promotions or job assignments.

25% - Just one-quarter of employees have personally been offered AI-specific training opportunities by their companies in the past 12 months
